Our client has recently been awarded  demolition and remediation projects in various sectors across the east coast and are now looking to grow their team of Project Managers on a permanent basis.

About our client:

Our client is a leading provider of deconstruction and remediation services serving the mining, oil and gas, power generation and government sectors. They provide integrated and divers solutions for large and complex projects capabilities, including demolition contracting, dismantling services, decommissioning and hazardous materials removal, land remediation, site rehabilitation and site preparation services.

Duties & Responsibilities

Management Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the activities within the Division and respective work team;
  • Evaluate the results obtained in comparison with the established objectives
  • Ensure the optimisation of resources and guarantee compliance with the applicable legislation and standards;
  • Coordinate activities with other peer Divisions;
  • Ensure awareness and supervise the implementation of the Integrated Management System within the Division;
  • Lead by example, participating in the creation of a safety, quality, environmental and industrial relations culture;
  • Analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and develop strategies for delivering solutions.
  • Track project progress, report issues and manage project resources;
  • Deliver business outcomes through the effective and efficient management of projects;
  • Document and maintain an up to date risk register for all projects;
  • Maintain project management templates and tools;
  • Provide or coordinate project management and related training;
  • Ensure safety, environmental and other risk assessments are undertaken for all works maintenance activities undertaken on the site generally;
  • Ensure action is initiated to reduce or eliminate risks or hazards and environmental aspects and impacts;
  • Interact with unions and clients and communicate at all levels;es;
  • Supervision of project staff, consultants and contractors;
  • Manage any HSEQ and environmental matters that may arise from time to time.

Skills and Experience

As a successful candidate, you are expected to have:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years experience in project management, ideally in the sectors outlined above
  • Strong safety culture
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience in Oil & Gas / Mining sector projects
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good commercial background, understanding and management of contracts
  • Ability to program and track projects progress using Microsoft Project or similar
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • A strong technical understanding of demolition is advantageous
  • Experience in contaminated ground remediation is an advantage
